You say turry's updater is part of the package?

Nope. But mine is.  :P

And the one included is already out-of-date.

why would an SCP error be considered as news? :wtf: *smacks Cobra*It's a feature.

Re: Raging Newbie here, but fast learner! (with something cool for FSSCP)
Doesn't your installer, Turey, (Oh i see, I spelt your name wrong! :D) check if evreything is upto date?  If not then there is little point in dling evreything right now.  It seems like mvps are on the verge of another update and if the intaller wont check for the new ones when they are out, then there seems little point giving it to freinds at this moment. If there is, is that update checker built into hip63's massive installer? or is it seperate.

Ah, Turey's installer automatically prompts you if there is an update for itself, or for the components it installs.  :D

Yep, the whole idea was to make easy for anybody (read - newbies ;)) get the base game installed and working with little effort and then it can be updated (via the updater) as new stuff comes out or items get updated :)

should work with all Windoze OS's (including vista) but I dunno about linux tho.

if some one could test it on linux and let me know, I may be able to tweak it if needed to work on linux. :)

i thought MAC recently (somewhat) became compatible with windows programs. why else would they put it on TV for weeks on end saying they can?

No, Macs can just multi-boot Windows now.  So if you want to fork over $$$.$$ for WXP, then yeah, but you still have to restart into Windows.

Re: Raging Newbie here, but fast learner! (with something cool for FSSCP)
well not all of us have intel macs.  I for one have a nice trusty G5 downstairs that I use for alot of stuff.

On another hand I was wondering but was to lazy to check. Did the fsport in this installer include some of they hi-poly fighters like the new apollo and athena bommer?

I think so... not sure if the Apollo made it... (I hope so).  Ask Gooby.

EDIT: Broken torrents removed, here's the fixed ones:
http://isohunt.com/release/85403
http://www.torrentbox.com/torrent_details?id=95670&uploaded=1

My first torrent... :nervous: I do wonder how to make it so my computer doesn't have to be connected all the time... I use Azureus, latest version.  I told Azureus to create hashes for other platforms, too, but I don't know how to use them.  Help, anyone?  Tell me how to do this right.  I do hope its working now, but I want links in other torrent sites, as well, and it would be nice to be able to shut off my computer without wondering which poor fellow fanboy I just toasted.

Re: Raging Newbie here, but fast learner! (with something cool for FSSCP)
I don't use gnutella, but that torrent is worthless. You confused a search engine with a tracker.

Here's how to do it:

1. Choose your tracker.
2. Make the torrent, including the tracker announce info.
3. Make sure you have lots of people to help seed.
4. Upload the torrent to the tracker.
5. Immediately get all your seeding friends to join.
6. Once well established, upload the torrent to some search engines.
7. Keep seeding.

You only did the second half of step 6, and you blew all the rest.

I wouldn't 7zip it either, just leave it as an iso. Otherwise anybody that does have the iso will be unable to join your torrent.

The torrent should include a nice readme file with instructions, links, and contents of the iso.

One free tracker is The Pirate Bay. I use Demonoid. PM me if you want.  :)

Re: Raging Newbie here, but fast learner! (with something cool for FSSCP)
Update... The torrent I originally started (.7z) is still going.. I have two peers, have uploaded 200 Mb, but the dumb thing has stalled.  I've got plenty of connection, but nothing's happening.  BTW, Huggybaby, speaking of the .iso... can you post a hash for that?  I made my own .iso with the DVD hip63 sent me.  If we are gonna make a torrent, we all need the same file.
EDIT: Found a better summer, updated link

Heck, I dunno... I tried a couple times to get a tracker, but anyways... did you see the plugins I mentioned?  Especially the Team Seeder one?
