Lately I've been obsessed with drawing them, so I was wondering if I was just wierd or if anyone else does, too. So, why not ask here?:D Anyways, post any pictures of them you have, and I'll try to post mine, as soon as I find something to scan them in with :):(

Dragons rock - I love them... they're featuring heavily in a game I've got in production

I'll see if I can dig some pictures up later...

Edit: Here we go... they're linked since the JPEG compression isnt to high and the total of all four is over 1Mb (I'm thinking of you 56Kers here ;))

Note that I didn't do these and I can't remember who did - but kudos to them

I like Medieval dragons but the Chinese ones suck. They have to be either really bulky and lion-esq (ala Dragon Heart) or really slender and evil looking (ala Magic The Gathering).

oh yeah, I love dragons, I draw lots of them :) they range from bulky to very serpentine, but they all share gigantic wings. I can't imagine all thos dragons i've seen in pics flying, with their ridiculous small wings.

yea, I agree, Chinese dragons stink. I really like slender dragons with huge, sort of majestic wings.

Yeah, I love drawing dragons too. But latest one I drew was in the form of a "tribal" tattoo. You might be :wtf: , but as I drew it the paterns just went to form a dragon. It's reminicent of most European Medival dragons. I tried to keep it from being too detailed, cause that would take away from the tribal aspect of it. I'll try a take a picture of it, its on my friends shoulder now, and the original on paper is lost. However, my friend... She has a PASSION with drawing dragons! I mean some of them are really something you might find in a painting or D&D book. My favorite has to be a painting of a robotic dragon head. It was so damn detailed, yet had that bio-mechanical feel and look to it, that I could just stare at it for hours on end trying to pick out any of the details. I'll try and get those up too. Trust me, once you see them you'll want one on a wall. hell, I do! :D
I have returned... Again...

My favorite dragons are those drawn by Michael Whelan for Melanie Rawn's Sunrunner books. To a lesser extent, I like his other dragons. They are all good, they just don't appeal to my sensibilities.

I used to draw dragons constantly, and occasionally play a stonedrake online. Here's a self portrait of that character:

I occasionally play about at doing Mikhael (the stonedrake) in 3d. It is a... torturous process. Here's links to the work in progress:

I'm not happy with the procedural maps, which is why I stopped working on it. I've got a 'tongue' model to go in the mouth, with bones for deformation (alot of bones!) and I've started 'fleshing' out the soft pallate and gumlines. I haven't decided on how I'll do the teeth as yet, nor the various horns and  the like. The lower jaw in the images is a seperate object, but I've already permanently attached it and set animated deformations so the 'muscles' will flex properly when it moves.
[I am not really here. This post is entirely a figment of your imagination.]

well, my favourite dragon design has to be the warhammer forest dragon figurine for the wood elves, it was really a magnificent figurine.

Wow, that model's great! (I want one ;))

A sloppy drawing (like a 2 minute one) but it's a dragon :p

(The horn is slanted at a wierd angle, it's supposed to be like that... well maybe not)

Science alone of all the subjects contains within itself the lesson of the danger of belief in the infallibility of the greatest teachers in the preceding generation . . .Learn from science that you must doubt the experts. As a matter of fact, I can also define science another way: Science is the belief in the ignorance of experts. - Richard Feynman
