For those who don't know, Honorverse is short for the Honor Harrington universe, from David Weber's Honor Harrington books. The SD(P) model is by me, following as closely as possible the descriptions from the books.
First - Superdreadnought fires a full Graser broadside instants after taking a hit. The leaking atmosphere, smoke and debris make the gamma-ray beams visible (since they get turned into plasma, and it's hot, and glows, or something).

Second - Superdreadnought fires a missile pod salvo. Only part of the salvo is visible (a single full pod salvo has six pods). They're probably too close together to fit the actual descriptions on the books, but I wanted them to be all visible at once (a single pod floating in space wouldn't really be all that fun).

I haven't read the Honourverse, but man do those pictures look cool.
The first one has that feeling of an 18th century battleship firing all its guns at once, except on a cool futiristic spaceship. And the second picture reminds me of Homeworld for some reason.
Great models, great lighting and composition.
My only complaint is that the second picture is a bit sparse. More than that, it doesn't have a sense of balance. the left side is a bit empty. What I suggest you do is either fill it up wioth some spaceships or planets (a partial view of a planet right up close to the screen on the left edge would be cool), or rotate/zoom the camera to get a better view of the missle salvo, its a bit distant. That, and perhaps make the laser shots coming out of the turrets in the first pic a bit more out of sync. Its look kind of wierd, having them all in the same stage of firing. Perhaps shorten/elongate some of the beams, and make some a bit away from the ship to show that they have been fired right before the picture was taken.
I know that sounds like a lot of complaints, but its not. For the most part, both pictures are great.

Aren't that a lot of graser mounts, even for s SD, but especially for a SP(D)?
Very nice renders, though. The top one looks very cool, and the bottom one kinda helps showing the range at which the ships fire.

Well, yeah, it's more than it's described on the books, but I wanted lots of guns.

OK, that's ok for a render......
Got any more (perhaps model a Peep too, and go broadside to broadside).
The ship to ship battles are kind of boring, though. You might want to try a LAC attack.

Or the Cromarty assasination.
-
That was a blast......

I gotta pick these books up :D I only have one of the later ones, and these renders tell me good things...
-
Eh, I only fully modeled the SD(P). Started on a pinnace and a heavy cruiser, but didn't get past the basic shape (no detailing).

It's our subtle way of telling you to do more ships.
You should get together with that guy on Scifi-Meshes (in a non-sexual way) and do the entire Manty fleet.

Indeed. There are about 12 free books in there. The last 3 are not that great though, they leave the storyline, and Weber let's too many others in.

yE GODS! Honnor? Here?
Your pics are amazing. The best I have seen in the honnorverse.
