Ok, i finally found a working copy of the blade (man, theres some great stuff if you dig through this board) but i don't know how to edit the nameplate. I have adobe photoshop 7.0 and ms paint. will either of those work, and if so, how?

Get WinGimp! :p
Seriously, though, Photoshop is more than adequate, but you'll need to offer some more information for accurate instructions...
Although I suspect that you just need a DDS plugin (and presumable permission to install it...) to open the nameplate file. If not, just create a new file, make the nameplate with appropriate colour and text with transparent edges, then save it as 32-bit (RGBA) TGA file and it should work at least to my information. Conversion to DDS befor edistribution is advisable, though... you can get NVidia's official DDS Utility tools (nvDXT) from here (http://developer.nvidia.com/object/dds_utilities_legacy.html); it doesn't have win on it's name though so that may be a problem, but since it's made by a company it can't be a virus so you'll likely have no problems getting it installed.

i figured it out. i need to get the font it uses (i think STOP?), erase the current name, and replace it with the new name. It's bee rasterized, so i can't just edit the text.

Which Blade? :wtf:

Aren't there plenty of instructions thrown around in regards to nameplate making?
I use Photoshop CS myself.
It' your having trouble making a .DDS texture you can always switch to a PCX.

okee-dokee. and btw, do you remember what font you used for it? :D
