how the hell do you take a screen shot? do you need a special folder?

Simplest way is to press "PrintScreen".  That saves a .tga into ... well.. ~/.fs2_open/screenshots on Linux, probably goes in freespace2/screenshots on Windows.  There is also a script which can slow down time and move your point of view freely, allowing you to take more impressive shots.  I haven't used this though.

Generally speaking, upload the screenshot to a hosting service like imageshack.  Then insert the URL of the screenshot inside "\[lvlshot\]" tags.  You can press the "quote" button on one of the other posts to see how they did it.

When playing SHUMPSpace and taking some photos, my Thinkpad W510 fan died, so now I can no longer play FreeSpace nor upload the photos online.
