Hello,
I've recently tried The Babylon Project on Knossos and as much as I like the the launcher as it eliminates all the headaches associated with getting the mods to run, the constant doubt of whether you have the up to date version and so on, I don't think some changes in gameplay are for the the better. My old TBP installation was from like 5 Windows installs ago and just wouldn't stop crashing and IIRC I tried to reinstall everything again, but that didn't quite fix the issue so Knossos, thus the latest version, is the only way to play for me right now.
The first thing I dislike is the addition of auto-aim. The Starfuries aren't supposed to have it because their guns are fixed, but more importantly it removes the joy of the shots flying where you send them when you have a precision joystick. Is there a way to disable it? It seems to be tied to difficulty, as in increasing the difficulty turned it off. I find that odd and wish there was another way.
The other thing is the 3D cockpit. It wasn't there before. Normally I like 3D cockpits as long as they're nicely designed and visibility doesn't suffer too much. Here, the pillars are quite thick. I'm not sure if I'd prefer to play with it on or off, just wish there was a way to turn it off on the fly. Is there?
