The command deck (I guess is what it's called, where you can go to the tech room or barracks and what not) is blurry.  I tried with with fix font distortion problem checked and unchecked and it's the same.  Otherwise, the game is 100% perfect!  I like it.

Small side request:  I would do this myself if I knew how, but since I don't I'll just ask the magical mod geniuses here for a small request.  Do you think it's possible or is there a plan in the works so you could see about making the cockpit of the Apollo look the way they made the cockpit for the Hercules look?  I like the trasparent glass and pilot model, and I think it would look awesome in the Apollo and add continuity since in the opening cutscene you can see the pilot through the glass.  Also, do you think it's possible to make the command breifing in the FS port look like it does in FS1?  So you don't have that small animation just hanging around in the middle of nowhere.

One last question.  Are the missions in the FS port essentially identical as in FS1?  I always wanted to remake the battle of Deneb so that it looks more like the intro cutscene in FS2.  It would be mad chaos, but it would be cool looking.  Thanks.

Check in the FS Upgrade Project, somone did a High Poly Apollo, don't like the textures much, but the model is great.

The FSport is almost identical to FS1, although I think it misses some of FS1's original atmosphere, I think it is just as fun (in a different way)

That's because it's been resized upward from 640x480.  FS1 didn't have a hi-res version.

Possible, yes; Taylor has done it.  I'm not sure if that's going to be added to the FSPort, though, as it requires new interface art.

What do you mean by this?  If you mean are they the same format, the answer is basically yes.

Cool!  Thanks for the info!  I love what you've done so far, Goober, along with everyone else.  Really high quality!   :yes:  Hmmm, I thought the FS upgrade project was for FS2, LOL.  I'll check it out.  You say you don't like the textures?  Well, I'll check it out.  If the textures look bad, maybe I could figure out how to combine the texture from the OG FS port to the model on the FS upgrade?  Nah, I wouldn't have the first clue.  Maybe I'll just ask one of you mod wizards if you can do it if there's enough interest.  I'd be willing to help, if I had some time.  Working full time while going to school full time really crunches my off time, though.

look around the forums carefully and read through the threads when you have time. There are alot of hidden goodies like the upgraded apollo, better skins for the angel and the valkyrie, better 3D jump model, and other niceties. You really have to get involved and tweak it out  :D

The Angel Scout Fighter?  They talked about it in FS1, but you never actually saw it in action.  What campaign uses it?

The Angle scout fighter is included with the FSport. push ctrl + shift + s in the tech room, and you'll see it in the list. (don't do this if you want all the ships to remain a secret before you finish the campagin)

I always wanted to remake the battle of Deneb so that it looks more like the intro cutscene in FS2.  It would be mad chaos, but it would be cool looking.

I personally have some issues with that movie. Like the medusa getting hit with that missile. And the burning science vessel. And the Lucifer shooting a beam out of its side. What's with that stuff?

It does look cool, however.

There is a high poly GTF Apollo in the Inferno: Alliance that is soon(?) going to be released. :nod:

There are lots of new ships in that pack.

I wouldn't count on anything Inferno related being released "soon" unless "soon" is several months away.

Ctrl + shift + s does nothing for me, and clicking on Weapons in the tech room crashes it.

Oh....That was like me about two years ago trying to get the high poly Herc into FS2, and then attempting to use the lab.... :lol:

Yeah, using Retail, getting my arse kicked on "The Darkness and the Light". Scorpions are some tough fighters to take down with the weapons available in that mission.

Ah, so I just stay the bleep away from the Ramses and blow up everything else. :) Here I was trying to disarm/disable it myself after getting my wingmen all zorched ordering them to do it. Oh well, an hour or so spent chasing Scorpions by myself was good practice. Probably fired more shots in that mission than in everything up to it.  :D

So there is no sneak-a-peek cheat in Retail?

No. You can use FRED and then create a SEXP to add them manually, but that would take a long time...

As for the blurry main hall images, they could be edited to add the detail or at least make them less jaggy at the higher resolution, but then the same would need done to the animations. It'd be a lot of work!
