IMHO the new influx of newbies made it more or less necessary to have a newbie section.

While this is good news in general, we answer roughly the same questions all over again.

I know...we do have a FAQ, never the less we could dedicate an entire section to newbies in general - this could tie in well with the documentation project.

Most important things to contain:

-What is FS2?
-Where can I get FS2?
-Where can I get further media, what will I need to insert it?

-What is SCP?
-Where can I get SCP?
-What tools will I need, where can I get them?
-What version of SCP should I use?
-What SCP media can I get and where?

-I want to join the SCP, how?
-What will I need? Where can I get the tools?

-I want to mod, what will I need, where can I get them?

Quite a lot of this is already covered in the various FAQs cicling among us. The documentation project also has a lot of resources and answers.
Still collecting them and making a newbie section could save us from a lot of headache.

First of all we won't be tired saying the same stuff all over again (meh..)....more importantly we will have a standardised response to anyone, so they can have a broder perspective of what's going on from the first moment.
Second, if we do manage to have a good SCP release/full FS2 release then we will indeed have a huge influx of new members - hopefully to much to handle in a person by person manner.

Indeed, couldn't have said it better myself. Wiki or HLP 2.0 - but these look like a FAQ.
