My ISP has just decided to double both it's upstream and downstream speeds.

Which means, I get 1 Mbit/s download and 512kbit/s upload speeds starting february.

For $20.

Yeah, some time ago my ISP upgraded all slow DSL connections to 512/512 for free. And I used to have 256/128, so good for me :D

I started at 256 kbit/s as well. Now I'm gonna get 1 Mbit/s for the same amount of money.

Meh.  My line length's too long to get anything other than 512, and it took a sodding age waiting for the exchange to get activated.

well, we used to have 56k (which ran more like 24k cuz of crappy phone lines) but now we have satellite. Its about 300-500kb/s download and really slow upload.  With a lag. for "very expensive" every month, and there's no alternative where I live.

I have no idea what i have, because it fluctuates so rapidly. sometimes it seems like it's 512kbps, and other times only 5kbps.

I'm limited to the university connection at the moment, untill I move out of student halls in the summer. Its fast as ****, problem is I only get 100mb of storage space.

Ouch 3GB is tiny ! Ahh, something to be said for my 1mbit DSL... No limits, no download or upload limits. At least, if there are, they are very high !
