Why shouldn't he?  He pays as much as the rest of us, it costs $30.00 min to fill my tank these days.  Older cars have ginormous tanks, mine holds 25 gals. and will go about 350 miles on that amount.
So as through a glass, and darkly
The age long strife I see
Where I fought in many guises,
Many names, but always me.

There are only 10 types of people in the world , those that understand binary and those that don't.

yeah for real man.  that's why i've been trying to sell my car :p  see, i have a 25 gallon tank, and i get usually around 170-175 miles to a tank.

and because of the compression ratio, it runs only on premium, which is $2.00 a gallon, and takes close to $50.00 to fill the tank up, which is usually once a week.

$2.00 would be nice. Premium right now is mid 2's, unless you go to Costco.

Really, Stealth, 12 MPG is terrible. IIRC MPG--> KM/L is deviding by 3, so you're running 4 KM/L. Our terrrible Chrysler Grand Voyager does 6 to 8, depending on trafffic jams. Most small cars out here are supposed to do at least 12 KM/L.

but you fail to see that this is no small car... it's a 240" long, 6000 pound+, 472 cubic inch beast of a car.  no room for hondas here.

:p

that is one sweet car man (at least to my tastes)
although the Km/L is not too good (we do a fair bit more over here), its still better than what your old seems to be doing. That, and its got power. Man, GO FOR IT!

With small car I meant anything smaller then a soccer mom SUV.

And I think anyone who's driving a Hummer should have his tired slashed and his gas tank emptied everytime he parks. Everyone who wants to buy a 4x4 should be forced to proove he needs one of em to do his work or get to his or his family's house or something.

I hear that.

Stealth: Bugger me, how rich are you? :eek2: That's a hell of a lot of money to blow on fuel every week. Not to mention the amount of crap that thing's gonna throw out in it's emissions (though you can't get busted for that in the US), especially given it's age.

I personally wouldn't buy a car that averaged less than 20mpg, but then I live in the UK. We pay about 80p per litre (well over US$1), so you'd have to be loaded to run a car that guzzled the amounts you're talking about...
Any fool can pull a trigger...

not rich, i work 4 days a week *shrugs*

see, i would LOVE to have a civic or something, but it's hard to find a good condition gas 'sipper' like a honda, toyota, etc. that doesn't cost $4000+, because nowdays that's what everyone goes for, and they're hard to find cheap.

actually, as far as emissions go, my 80 cadillac blew away the emissions test.  the guy that gave it said that it's typical for the older cars.  he said he bought a brand new mustang, and it failed the emissions test, while my 22 year old car (at the time i took the test) passed with flying colors.

Find me any 4 (or even 6) cylinder car for under $1000.00, anywhere in the US, in running condition (body doesn't matter, as long as it runs good and clean) and i'll buy it tomorrow :D
