I got my hands on a GTX 970, which can utilize Nvidia DSR. DSR (Dynamic Super Resolution) opens up the game to larger resolutions then downscales the image to fit your screen, thus increasing the apparent detail. For example, my monitor is only 1920x1080, but with DSR I can render games at 3840x2160 and see a much prettier image. It actually acts almost like extra FXAA as everything looks even smoother.
The only problem with this in relation to FSO is that it breaks the HUD of mods that don't have scaling HUD gauge tables. So this would actually be bad to use with many mods. It does work with JAD 2.2/XA and BP, but Dimensional Eclipse is affected by the problem.
Too much colours and too much blurred lights. it makes everything looking candy- like. Just my personal opinion
. I prefer more... "calm" palette of light and colours. It creates better "space-like" atmosphere to me
With these light settings the space around the Solaris glow points looks like lights on my Christmas tree which is still standing in my room xD
That's because I'm using a True Color Post-Processing table. Those lights are caused by re-enabling a few table features in BP while using Swifty's Soft Shadows builds.
