Brighten it up, I can hardly see it.

There were some cranes in the hanger bay of the Bastion, you might want to add something similar to this design.  When skined, having areas labled "air lock" might be approriate.

The ribs seem a bit too close to me.  Maybe pull them out a little more.  It's hard to tell, though, the image is so damn dark.

He ja. I like. You should add a big solid sector- ya know- precision manufacturing and offices... Maybe a big corporate logo or something, unless you don't want to specialize it.

From what I can see, that looks pretty cool. But yeah, brighten it up a little so we can see a bit more detail - that model certainly looks like it's got it.

I'd add a radar array.

Hey, that kinda reminds me of the McKinley station in orbit of Mars (in Trek)!  (The station where the Enterprise-D was constructed, and the Defiant-class warships were designed.)

That's not a bad design for a drydock. But can you make the top part a bit less blocky?

Just an opinion.

  • What is this? I don't even...
nah, McKinley looks more like this claw that latches on to the saucer part of the ship...
actually it kinda reminds me of a facehugger from Aliens (McKinley, not your station)....

this one is BIG..
all in all, almost 300,000 polygons and textures about 800x600 minimum.

this is for a personal porject im working on - i'll keep the board posted on how it progresses.
 http://www.wevil.co.uk/BW/drydock3d.jpg

my problem atm is the renderer im using wont do glows..so ill have to do some jiggery-pokery with render layering and some compositing programs to get all the pretty lights in and stuff.

**** EDIT ****

i edited this out and put the link here instead because ITS SO DAMN SLOW TO LOAD THIS THREAD NOW!!

arrgh.

rant over :P

really impressive. Since I do models for FS2 I don't make high poly models... I should try again.
