Is this too much for FreeSpace 2 tohandle?
I was looking for the WArlock destroyer and finally found it. However, I saw the polygon count was about 36248.

So, is this acceptable by FreeSpace 2 standards?

You will be so lucky, I think FS's max is around 10K polygons (or there abouts)...

As a note of interest, the largest ship in FS2, the Colossus, doesn't even make 2k polys (although it's pretty close)

You think the Colossus is good??? It looks a water pistol, it gets its ***  kicked really fast....... You gotta wait for NeoHunter's Juggernaut Design...... My best bigship is the least detailed - only 1200 polys (SOD Segomo)

I'm not gonna start another "Collosuss is cr@p fight" but I think it's good.  Fair enough there are plenty of weak points but what's the point in building a ship that is nearly impossible to destroy.

I find the blind spots balance up the Collosuss' ability to take a beating and keep hitting back.  It's tough but not imortal (same as the Sathanas).

Oh and Aldo, you got a screen shot?  I'm looking for as many terran capship and fighter mods as I can find at the minute for my own little campaign.  If it looks good and is available I'd love to use it.

The simpler the design, the more solid it looks. Having lots of little decorative things for detail make your ship look like it might snap in half in a minute- look at the Hecate and tell me how long you'd expect that to survive.

you can make a 133+ cap ship using 8-sided cylinders only.

And yes. I do agree that the Colossus looks like a water pistol.

And yes. I agree with Shrike. Winning wars is a good excuse for building a ship that is nearly impossble to destroy. An example, the SJ Sathanas. The Shivans won, didn't they?

So in order to win, more and better weapons are required.

execpeted the satahans is nothing near impossible to destroy. It gots a weak point of about 300°
