Isn't that the cannon of the destroyer that they've got in Galveston, Texas
it can shoot missiles up to 1000 miles with deadly accuracy or something like that?

It's supposed to be the most powerful missile launcher for its class and most accurate.

The ship in Texas is prabably an Iowa.  It can't hit 1000 miles away.  There is a concept design for a trimaran battleship called the Leviathan that has a pair of railguns that can hit ships at 500 miles.  Do you have the two ships mixed up?

The last one was decommissioned over 5 years ago...  Actually there is one battleship that is still commisioned, the USS Arizona.  But I kinda doubt she'll be seeing action anytime soon  

I don't know what's become of the Iowa since her #2 turret exploded.  Did she make it to Texas?  is she still there?  All I know is that there were no plans to repair the damage to her and she was to be decommissioned and that's the last I heard about her.  Anyone else have any info?
