not yet.. mostly just doing maintenance stuff so far - cleaning up some warnings, updating the wxwidgets version i build against and adjusting my code to reflect the API changes, getting ready to improve some UI behavior then i'll delve into features

dekker doesn't have write access to PCS2.. has he been working on writing in collada without telling me and without requesting write access?

Yeah, Spicious has been working on Collada support for months; see some of the last pages of this thread.  There's also a Collada Importer Wiki Page.  The structure in the Wiki is probably a bit outdated though.  There's been a lot of support for him working on this, a good chunk of the major modelers around here have been testing and giving input as to its functionality.  I think Spicious has probably realized this was a lot bigger endeavor than it looked like going in, but it's made some great progress I think.  And you weren't around a whole lot lately, so I guess no one figured to suggest he ask for write access.  But now you're back, and all is well again

one potentially PITA issue i notice is that specious is using VS 2008 SP1 and i' using VS 2005 SP1

oh and the PMF format is scheduled to be altered - but that affects all the converters

I have a request, a scaling feature.  (I recently tried the export to cob-change preferences-import the ship method but it barfed all over me.  'Course, PCS crashes on me anyway)

A) if PCS2 has been crashing on you why haven't you been reporting it
B) define "barfed all over me"
C) the COB options have a scaling feature

A)  I think It got defined as the "random crashes bug" or somesuch.  It doesen't like me to look at weapons point, engine points, pretty much anything with points.
B)  I think it might be the model itself, it says something about somethingorother being out of bounds when I try to import.  I also tried opening it in TS recently and it said "bad data format."
C) that's what I was trying to use ... I think.

A) That is a known bug
B) Try reexporting the COB.  If it still doesn't work, there may be a bug in COB export.
