nyway, as Giger didn't work on the following movies (excepted the third one, where he designed the "dog" alien and the new chestburster -very different from the one in the second movie-), what the aliens are has completly evolved, with the addition of the queen and stuff like that, which didn't exist in Giger's mind in The 8th Passenger (eggs are grown from victims though an -horrible- mutation, not layed by a queen).
So, in fact, we'll know what they are when a movie will decide what they really are.

To be more presice, I think the alien baby(?) absorbs some of the DNA and characteristics of its host and thus, you have all kinds of Aliens.

In a dog, out comes a Dog Alien. Goes on all fours and is very agile and fast.

In a human, out comes a "human" Alien. Walks on twos. Smart, cunning and deadly.

PREDalien in multiplayer AVP2. Predator is fun you, toying with the Marines. When they see you, just jump over them hehe, and they dont know where you went.

In multiplayer AVP2 can you start as a Facehunger or do you just choose Predalien?

nono, it's not what I meant. In Alien1, the victims TURNS into the eggs, for exemple, in a scene that has been cut, you see on of the guys of the crew half turned into an egg, and Dallas is about to bear the same mutation, and asks Ripley to finish him off (doesn't that reminds you of something?  ). Believe me, the other guy half human, half egg is pretty disgusting.

a whole clip from teh rifle to kill? as the predator they die quite easily but the queeny died without to much hassel either and guy in big mech suit thing too - the predator rules =)- i dont like playing as a human you feel very weak - you know your the lowest in the food chain =( although perhaps once i get a minigun things will feel more comfortable

The Alien Queen can be killed if you have a full energy pack and use the shoulder cannon, the final dude can be killed by a single spear through the head. Preds 0wn

Is that not the alien has 'trapped' him in that filament crap, the same way as it builds it's nest?

Anyway, the Queen lays the facehuggers, which implant the alien embryo in the host.... presumably both the host DNA and even the environment the alien grows in has an effect.  In Alien 4, they made an Alien with a womb (that odd yellow thing at the end).

BTW, any news on alien 5?  i think it's where the Aliens finally get to Earth.

Actually (granted I'm not a fan of FPS so I don't own either game) I'd thought the Aliens should fall fairly easily. In the movies their main advantages are partially the animalistic hunting skills (Marines aren't exactly used to big two legging beasts running through the ceiling) but mostly it's shear numbers. If Alien 1 you add in a squad of Marines I doubt it would have been all that much of an issue  

Preds thou....well...we all know the result of Pred 1,...you've gotta be a big steroid induced guy with a bad accent to convince one to blow itself up

Canteen is military jargon for 'mess hall' as well as a bottle to keep fluids in.

yup aliens only are dangerous in numbers - 1 predator on the other hand is lethal - and yup thats how i took out the queen shoulder cannon and lots of running backwards had to resort to otehr weaposn though i ran out of energy before she died as for the dude in the heavy suit i just ran out of the hall fired off afew plasma cannon shots charging it fully for i ran out one he started to get close i ran back into the hall and then he went back instad of fallowing me so i ran out again and hit him with more plasma and did this until he died he only got afew shos off at me  the first time i ran out from the hall - it would have been more fun to have him not so stupid and follow you then you could get trapped in the tunnels and have to fight fairly well not fair if you can get cover since he does outgun you but hehe would have been mroe fun to have it a fiar fight maybe a door cloose behind you when you exit the hall
