I'm not sure what has changed, (they only say "for special customize settings") but Realtek released 3.98 version AC97 drivers on Feb. 8, 2007.

My drivers changed from 5.10.0.6210 to 5.10.0.6220.

This may be of interest to those that are using on board sound.

If I had a USB gameport adapter or a USB joystick, I'd look into this, but since I have to have my SB Live! 5.1 in to use my stick, I just use it for sound, too.
