Release - JAD Voice-Acted! (kinda)
JAD 1, Digitally voice acted!

By the way, you have to dump all this into your JAD/Missions folder... uses the Voice-Acting Manager.

Ooh, well done.  And good job using the Voice Acting Manager.  That's what it's there for. :)

Re: Release - JAD Voice-Acted! (kinda)
A noob question:

Shouldn't wav files go to voice folder and subfolders?
IF YOU HAVE TROUBLES WITH FS2:
  • Please, please, please, READ and UNDERSTAND the sticky threads in FreeSpace & FreeSpace Open Support board.
A lot of people are willing to help you, but, as anyone can understand, seeing the very same "issues" repeated again and again can become quite depressing. Please, spend a bit of time trying to solve the issue by yourself.
    (Lobo deserves a monument).
  • Then, if you aren't still able to solve your issue, feel free to ask for help in that same board.
FYI, most of the troubles are caused by wrong mod installations which lead to either missing data or undesired cross-effects between them. Always follow the mod installation instructions and keep a clean FS2 installation as explained in the sticky threads. Two additional links about how the game handles game data:
  • If you think that you've discovered a bug, mantis it.
Provide as much info as you can, and try to narrow it down. A lonely "FS2 doesn't work" is not a good report.

Ask goober, he made the voice-acting manager. (I assume)

Putting the WAV files into the voice folders is the responsibility of whoever puts together the voice pack.  That means it's your responsibility.  The voice manager has nothing to do with it.

Re: Release - JAD Voice-Acted! (kinda)
I did notice that none of the files seemed to be organized at all... I'm putting them into a VP for myself, I could upload that to make it easier on people (once I'm finished with it).

ehm, I found out that the voice-acting manager will only play my files if I put them into the mission folder...

Re: Release - JAD Voice-Acted! (kinda)
That's not the voice acting manager; that's the message editor.  And that's probably a bug in FRED.

Didn't you test your voice pack in FreeSpace?  You still need to put the messages in the proper place for it to work.

Actually, it IS the voice-acting manager and YES I did test it, and It worked fine when I put the voice files into missions...

P.s. I used the 3.6.9 normal fred build.

Uh, it works perfectly fine for me. Also it's pretty funny, but FRED's "Burn baby burn!" doesn't line up anymore. :P

Re: Release - JAD Voice-Acted! (kinda)
There was a bug where FRED wouldn't play .wav files for anything other than messages. This is now fixed in post 3.6.9 builds. You might have run into that.
