ive been screwing around with the arduino tv-out library, looking to see if i could use it as an mfd fore fs2. while i am able to render 1-bit graphics to a small lcd i have, im having trouble getting the serial interface to work with all the interrupts and timers being used up to generate a tv signal. i think you can draw graphics, but without being able to do a whole lot of other stuff with the mcu. i think a hardware solution is in order.

My paternal grandmother died today (monday) around six AM.
I'm going to be INCREDIBLY busy as my dad has had a bit of mental snap.
Bloody wuss.

Obviously don't expect any contact for some weeks. I'm even off army duties on compassionate in order to co-organise matters.

WIH part 2 would be a welcome distraction once i'm back.

im ****ing around with the chinese people on ebay. thought id order me a new soldering station. seeing as my soldering iron finally died after prolonged abuse, i thought id order myself a variable temperature rapid heatup rig. since im a cheap basterd, and dont want to buy the same thing in the usa for 3 times the price and get jacked on shipping, so i ordered it from one of those chinese warehouses who sell non logoed clones of other products. 3 weeks later i get the thing, and aparently the chinese dont know what cardboard is. the thing is in a box made out 3/8" styrafoam (not even good styrafoam, its that **** they used to use back in the 80s thats been recycled 50 times) covered in a single layer of tape. now i order stuff from china all the time, its cheaper than picking the same thing up at walmart for 3 times the price (we dont have a walmart) and so far i havent got jacked yet. so i do what any screwed over ebayer does, i gave em the evil red blip and said their packing was ****. i ask them to send me a new case (i was hoping they were a factory and not a warehouse), 3 days of emails later, and they finally figure out what the **** i was saying, and tell me they dont have the parts. then they offer me a $4 partial refund, which doesnt even cover half the shipping. so i told em i want half off. they said what about $10, so i told em that would buy them a neutral. now they are begging me to make it positive. at this point i can hardly care about the money, i find it really amusing to screw with these people.i demanded a full refund. cnat wait to see them squirm.

Re-watched the A Team the other day and noticed an easter egg! When the team break Murdoch out of the Sanitarium in Germany, the 3d movie playing is showing credits. One of the actors names that is shown is Reginald Barclay, a nod to Dwight Shultz's character in Star Trek TNG and Star Trek: Voyager! Dwight Shultz played Murdoch in the original TV series!

I can't believe I was nerdy enough to pick up on something like that, especially on the second viewing!

Finally finished my modern history assignment. Am so tired, I could feel the stress getting to me tonight. Man, I need more sleep.

Primary Objective: Buy curtains.

Proposed Outcome: Sunlight will stop waking me up in the mornings on weekends and neutralising any prospects of getting back the lost sleep during the school week.

Contingency BEDSIDE: Put the bedframe on wheels and move it 1.5 metres away from the window to mitigate the incoming sunlight.

Contingency AWYEAHDILMAH: Use superior muscular prowess to lift bed the necessary 1.5 metres away from the window.

sleeping in on the weekend doesn't really do a lot for me to catch up. it just ****s up my sleep cycle. i've pretty much been in a state of prepetual tiredness for the past year and a half.
