I hadn't heard that, but I know what they used as the start menu replacement on windows 8 was essentially malware. Sad that this seems like no big deal now that ALL of windows is essentially malware.

Dude wasn't on a watchlist though. He got investigated by the FBI twice, and both times the investigation was concluded because they couldn't really find anything actionable on him.

Welp, it's a pretty ****ed up story, but whether or not it's gun control is the usual fare, but mention the words Muslim and Islam and watch the media **** itself. I think it's very clear it was another lone wolf attack. People do crazy **** - or just be crazy like the gaming press and start attacking their own medium for something completely unrelated.

Media circus is kinda funny but also pathetic on how paranoid the media itself is, while us common folk recognize a tragedy and a nutcase.

Nutcases happen randomly, but when one particular demographic is 123 times overrepresented in terrorist killings, then only a fool chooses to ignore that connection.

As for gun control, it may be a good idea but its kind of merely treating the symptoms, not the cause. Muslim extremists are still extremists, no matter if they have guns or not. Religious extremism is what needs to be addressed here, thats the root cause.

Gun control is illegal until second amendment changes. As much as I believe gun control could help reduce the deaths, it needs to be done legally. If Obama really wants to crack down on guns, he should call to change the second amendment, not try to dishonestly sidestep the constitution. Otherwise its just empty rhetoric, IMHO.

More like a story on the Verge stupidly pulling up the corpse of Jack Thompson from yesteryear and a gaggle of idiots rushing to throw in similar chimes of stupidity.

I made the callous comment on crazy because media organizations have a tendency to make stupid connections to tragedies that otherwise have nothing to do with what went down.

What is idiotic about that article? It's basic "This is stuff people at E3 have said about Orlando" and "This is what the PR departments do in response to Orlando" stuff. Not a lot of editorializing there, I think. Like, the only mentions about the whole "videogames cause violence" bull**** in there is firmly in the negative.
