Renders using the program Terragen 2. You can get Terragen 0.9.43 free and create scenes with mountains, sun, etc. I don't know about just clods, but you possibly can. Check out the gallery on the Terragen site for more pics :)

A month or so back there was a big storm churning towards the gulf, and I saw a recent picture one of the ISS astronauts had taken of it.  I thought it was pretty cool, but it was pretty blurry.  So I did a search to see any other ISS photos of hurricanes.  That one I posted was the best one I could find, but there are quite a few others that were good.

The one of Hurricane Ivan does have a bit of a "You are falling into the Black Hole" feel to it.   Trippy.  :P

I was unable to locate a 1920x1080 image that was sufficiently Relevant To My Interests (read that: minimize writing, stare for a moment at a character, find inspiration), so the image used is somewhat stretched. It survived better than the other candidate however.
