Well, some of the info on her won't change. One of it is that she's an attack battlestar, late 1st Cylon War vintage. Only a few of the class were commissioned in time to see combat (iirc), and it's one of the first (if not the very first) battlestars this big that had fixed pods and didn't have to retract them to jump. This made it a perfect choice for quick strike missions - she's fast and well armed compared to her larger cousins, but the armor suffered. This battlestar class was meant to jump in, do a lot of damage in a short amount of time, and jump out. The wide flight pods that have dual strips on each landing deck make it possible to retrieve more vipers at once, shortening the time it takes to recall all birds prior to a jump. Ship length is about 1000m, and she has 80 launch tubes (40 each pod). The fact some of the tubes are upside down simply means that they were saving space - you can see the same design on the Mercury class. One could assume there's a prechamber that rotates the viper into a correct position before it's loaded into a tube, but we didn't fanwank that into too much detail
The ship was a result of the changing tactics near the end of the war when the colonials were spending more time on the attack.
