Okay I'll get flamed for this, but...
What are the biggest, coolest ships available for FS2 and where can I DL them?

From what i can tell, see above.

I know i dont know much about the inferno ships, but remeber you can go over the top. If the ships are too big the player doesnt feel part of the action.
Unless you have more powerful weapons too.

WTF!!!! The Gigas is @#!#$@# huge?!?! On a more sane note the Apocalype from Machina Terra is almost as large and is fully animated while the Gigas is essentially a Sath on some kind of Uber-Steroids.

In my modest opinon these are the campaigns to watch out for, from an admitted cap-ship junkie:

Inferno
Machina Terra
Blackwater Operations

...any I missed?

Oh the old Gigas looked like a stretched Sath as when I first made it, I couldn't model at all using TS1. Eventually I learned to model and the version above was made

the coolest are ---in my opinion---
(unordered list)
the arcadia of venom
the vasudan bomber of venom (..don't ask me for names:p)
the vasudan bomber of aldo_14(called Reshef i think)
the terran fighter/bomber of aldo_14 (the one with the white plates)

if there are more at the same stunning level of quality (except mines:p:p - kidding:D:D-) i really don't know..for pics an downloads ask directly em:)

Faverate ships excuse my spelling

Fighter: Eskerial (venoms ship)
Destroyer: another one of venoms models from OTT or a consept picture by dark if thats allowed.
cruiser: my cruiser yet unamed
sentry gun: my sentry gun (untextured)
bomber: bobboaus anchent bomber (Zakros i think)
supa cap: the trusty old apocolipse
corvette: my corvette in the thread (My Best Model)

Is it just me or does freespace lack moded transport ships with cargo units and science ships.

There is the GTD Raynor model, public beta, awaiting some minor corrections, located on this thread, or it can be downloaded at this site.
