Problems at launching BP AoA and BP 2
Recently i decided to play FS 2 again, but my old installation of  FS 2 was unnistalled, so i redid all the process, install FS 2, SPC, MediaVps, the launcher and of course, the mods. So i did, installed BP AoA Director´s Cut and tried to launch (on 3.6.12 INF SSE2) and it didn´t worked.

Heres the message on the crash:
Quote
bp-shp.tbm(line 98:
Error: Required token = [#End], [$Subsystem:], [$Name], or [$Template], found [+noreplace].

ntdll.dll! ZwWaitForSingleObject + 21 bytes
kernel32.dll! WaitForSingleObjectEx + 67 bytes

fs2_open_3_6_12r_INF_SSE2.exe! <no symbol>
fs2_open_3_6_12r_INF_SSE2.exe! <no symbol>

and the fs2_open.log

If someone can help me,i would be grateful.

  • On Windows, simply run the installer, and point it at your FS2 directory. Once it's done, open your Launcher of choice, and select the provided builds (Named fs2_open_3_6_17_SSE2_BP.exe).
In short, .12 won't work with BP. Anyway, why are you trying to run it with .12 when .16 is out (not that .16 probably won't work either. Use the builds from the installer).
People are stupid, therefore anything popular is at best suspicious.

Can you please post a fs2_open.log from when you ran with the build provided in the installer?  That should help us give more accurate ideas as to the problem :)

You're still using the 3.6.16 executable :)  Get the 3.6.17 / BluePlanet executable from this thread and post another log using that if you're still having problems.

Like i said before, i used the 3.6.17 SSE2 executable. IT shows the Appcrash and the log shows that im using the 3.6.16, for some reason.

Anyway, i installed the compatibility pack of BP 1 and 2 and it worked on 3.6.16, but, without sound.
Here´s the log.

http://pastebin.com/zTh43UH1

obs: i had to run in Debug to generate a new log. that´s why the log i was using wasn´t showing the correct version of the executable i was using. :/

Re: Problems at launching BP AoA and BP 2
OK - I understand now, 3.6.17 crashes, 3.6.16 (using the compatibility pack) works but without sound.

Do you want to get 3.6.17 working?  If so, you'll probably need to update your video card drivers, or if they are up to date, add the -no_glsl launcher flag (i.e. Disable GLSL (shader) support).

As for the lack of sound with 3.6.16, not sure what's going on there.  You could try selecting other playback devices from the launcher.  You could also try getting a more recent version of openal soft here, I think you just need to copy the dll into your freespace2 folder.

Re: Problems at launching BP AoA and BP 2
So, im having some extra problems:
1 - I worked out the solution for the sound problem, i was selecting the wrong soundcard, so i changed to the correct one and the sound worked.

2 - I launched the 16 executable and it run well, until i try to select a campaign, it crashed again.

Here´s the crash message:
Code: [Select]

Here´s the 16 app log:
http://pastebin.com/mVg1Wcam

3 - So i tried with 17 app, and it was crashing right on launching (appcrash)

4 - Then i tried to run the 17 app debug to see what´s going on, and i was able to play the very first mission, with sound and all, but, when i warped to Earth, it crashed again.

But, the log is so incredibly long (more than 200.000 lines and over 14mb of size) that it crashed my chrome whenever i try to use the pastebin to show it, so, i know this is inconvenient, but please, try to download the .txt i uploaded on mediafire, thanks.

Thanks for the help.

obs: About the driver, i shall take a look on it, but im pretty sure that my ****ty onboard graphic card is updated.

Re: Problems at launching BP AoA and BP 2
le sigh

I will say this once more. BP is NOT, I repeat, NOT compatible with 3.6.16. Never has been, never really will be.
