"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Since George W. got to the White House. :p

I wasn't trying to intravenously inject them with heroin either, though.

Well, that said, I'm just the weird music person in my house now - to all my family members. I tried to introduce my family to some of my favourite bands. My family said "No." :p

Hah.... my mum likes most of the bands i listen to, for some reason (especially Travis and Stereophonics).  Me dad hates them all though...... :D

Spoon - I stand in awe by your flawless fredding. Truely, never before have I witnessed such magnificant display of beamz.
Axem -  I don't know what I'll do with my life now. Maybe I'll become a Nun, or take up Macrame. But where ever I go... I will remember you!
Axem - Sorry to post again when I said I was leaving for good, but something was nagging me. I don't want to say it in a way that shames the campaign but I think we can all agree it is actually.. incomplete. It is missing... Voice Acting.
Quanto - I for one would love to lend my beautiful singing voice into this wholesome project.
Nuclear1 - I want a duet.
AndrewofDoom - Make it a trio!

NO :o

Hehe, anyways - today I've mostly listened to a couple of films. Resevoir Dogs and Terminator 2. Various tracks from one of the Gorillaz albums, Tool, Incubus and a few other random things.

It's a fact.  Stupid people have stupid children.  If you are stupid, don't have sex.  If you insist on having sex.  Have sex with animals.  If you have sex with an animal.  Make sure the animal is smarter than you are.  Just encase of some biological fluke you and the animal have offspring, they won't be as stupid as you are.   One more thing.  Don't assume the animal is protected.  If the animal has a condom, or if female some interuterian device, insist they wear it.  Help stop this mindless mindlessness.  Keep your stupidty to yourself.  This message was brought to you by the Committee of Concerned Citizens that are Smarter than You are.

The Grudge was blew away the rest of that days acts (EDGEFEST is a big outdoor festival)  I'm sure that the rythm of my heart actually went with the music.  I'm particulalry fond of Lateralis (the song)  It just seems to flow so beutifuly.  If you don't have it, go find the dvd set, its well worth it.

Is there a VHS of it?  I don't have a DVD player.  :(

I prefer the older Tool like on the Undertow and Opiate CD's but I still like them all.  :)

I hope nobody says Manyard is their Idol.  He is a Grade-A physcopath.:)

I'm not sure if there's a VHS.  It does have two songs of Undertow (Sober and something else)  and two songs of Aneima(spelling?  This is just off the top of my head)  Have a look.

I realise this is derailing the thread and all - sorry - but it's for a good cause ;)

I've got the AEnima and Latarus albums, plus some stuff from the net... I intend to get the others in time but money problems makes that a real no no. As for my favourite songs... Latarus, Parabola, The Grudge,  Ticks and Leaches, Schism, Stinkfest and Triad are my favourites in no particular order. But that certainly doesn't make the others any worse! Tool certainly kick ass - revolutionary music for sure, with style as strong as bands like RATM when they were in their prime. Incredible.

I just love how they are so different than most of the other bands currently in music today.  They're loud, proud and very musically deep.  One of my favourites is on AEnima, can't rember the name, but its the one in german.  I once listened to it for an hour before realising I had the CD Player set to loop the one song.
