So what do you think of it? It's my first try since I got back from camp, and I kinda cheated since it's a real picture in the backround, not something rendered. I thought it looked cool though.

Anywayz, its a good pic but the Orion = bad. Destroyers are just out of place there. Only fighters is better.

Eh? How-come I can always see Geocities pics? This is very unsettling. But conversely, GIF's seem to animate sporadically. My computer is sooooooo ****ed.

 two things I'd do .... blur the sharp blue line you've got on the engine glows ... and possibly set the Orion to a higher Opancy (no I can NOT spell b4 my 5th cup of coffee) so that it seems more within the atmosphere (unless it's meant to be Just overthe mountain range ... which in that case I'd make her larger.

I like the pic. It's good and I usually like pics with atmospheric flight. But I'm with Tiara on this one and think that the Orion does look kinda odd Good pic though.

It's very good otherwise, but the destroyer is odd in my opinion, too. The fighters look good, but the thruster flame could look better.
 
Geocities usually work, but only with copy+paste.

What Program are you using?
If its Photoshop I would suggest playing with the "levels" to assimilate the lighting better.
 If your using Corel...I can't remember....itys been A while since I played with Corel.
Its really quite good.

Not sure about the blur on the fighters, doesn't quite look right.

With the fighter engine glows (or any glows, for that matter) have them on a seperate level set to Screen.

1. I use Photoshop 6
2. I’m still getting EyeCandy to work after reinstalling Photoshop, so I had to use the in-house effects for engine glows, which didn’t really come out the way I wanted. I agree they’re weird, they look too solid.
3. As for water reflections of the Perseus’s, although they should be there, they aren’t because that was too hard to do during history class and I’m not sure quite how I would go about it.
4. The Orion is supposed to be in high atmospheric flight, and I guess looking at it again, it does look strange. Maybe Bosch was hiding it in the mountain or something

In-house Photoshop 6 effects is all I use to make glows; all you need to do is put the glow layer on Screen blending mode as opposed to Normal.

With another Blured Layer overtop for heat/Then add ripple at Large size

I like to use screen sometimes too, but it seems that it doesn't always work with some color backgrounds...or maybe it's just me.
